“VCU votes” campaign wins communication award

uncle ram goldThe “VCU votes” campaign to turn out the student vote at VCU during the 2012 presidential election has been recognized with a Democracy Cup Award. The Campus Election Engagement Project (CEEP) honored the project run by 15 VCU honors students as the “Best Communication Campaign” in Virginia. The campaign was developed and carried out in the “Social Media and Presidential Race” course, which I taught with my colleague Jeff South last fall semester.

Please read more about the award in articles on VCU News and the School of Mass Communications website, the blog of the College of Humanities and Sciences, the website of the Division of Community Engagement at VCU as well as the website of CEEP. Please also read a previous post about the “VCU votes” project.
