KONY 2012: From perfect viral campaign to social media nightmare

The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) is hosting a panel on public relations case studies “Tenacious Tweeting, Bellowing Blogging, Fanatical FaceBooking, Yappy YouTubing: Using Industry Cases as Teaching Tools” at its annual conference in Chicago this week. I will present a case study on the positive and negative effects of the KONY 2012 campaign that I am using in my social media class to illustrate the short-lived success of the viral video above.

The panel will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Downtown Chicago Marriott. Feel free to download a PDF of my presentation slides. Please e-mail me, if you are interested in the Powerpoint file or have any questions.
