Rodney King and the impact of citizen videos

The death of Rodney King this weekend reminded us of the police brutality, the controversial court ruling and the subsequent riots in Los Angeles in the early 1990s. But the Rodney King case also marked the advent of citizen videos and their increasing impact on television news. Before many had a smart phone in their pockets, camcorders captured news events just as well. CBS 6 anchor Bill Fitzgerald interviewed me on Monday on the impact of the Rodney King video and the changing media landscape.
