Social media and the city

The City of Richmond awarded a marketing contract to a company in Denver and subsequently upset one of the local bidders, David Saunders from Madison+Main. In a social media blitz, Saunders caused widespread media coverage and an uproar within the creative industry of Richmond, because Richmond’s mayor had just recently praised the city’s creative minds. To discuss the fallout from the city’s decision and the social media backlash, I was invited this morning for a talk on 97.3 WRIR’s Open Source with host Will Snyder, Richmond BizSense’s Aaron Kremer, and Saunders.

Please listen to the 30-minute radio talk here.
