Media coverage of the protests in Egypt

Journalists have been under attack while trying to cover the protests in Egypt. Not only correspondents of television networks and newspapers were attacked, but especially star reporters and anchors such as CNN’s Anderson Cooper and CBS’ Katie Couric. I was interviewed on 1140 WRVA this morning by Style Weekly Editor in Chief Jason Roop on what it takes to cover crises like the one in Egypt. He asked whether getting the story gets trumped by self-preservation.

You can listen to the interview here.

At the end of the interview, Roop also mentioned the Richmond Forum events with Anderson Cooper on Feb. 19 and 20, which I will be moderating. You can still get tickets here.
